Century City Scores a 100
A new kind of place is brewing at Smith House
Century City is about to get its first destination hangout.
With cocktails courtesy of Roger Room, pub food gussied up by a Top Chef icon, and 120 beers on tap, Smith House Tap & Grill, opening tomorrow night, gives us all a reason to become mallrats.
Owner Curtis Nysmith's spacious, brick-and-leather-clad space has been designed as equal parts sports bar, gastropub, and fine dining experience.
For starters, the beer menu reads like a polished wine list. Some of the booths even offer a “you-tap” option, to serve yourselves up to 32 ounces of Stella.
Gin and bourbon-based cocktails will look familiar to Roger Room fans, as they come courtesy of the The Room's mixologist, Damian Windsor.
The TVs show sports, the music's loud, and the food is comfortable but creative.
Top Chef Angelo Sosa adds a gourmet twist to cheeseburgers, chicken wings, and 12oz. NY strips.
Have we mentioned your girlfriend can shop while you watch Monday Night Football?
Here's hoping the Westfield Mall has plans to expand their parking lot to handle the influx.
